Growing Flowers in your Garden
Having a garden is wonderful. Even if it is small, you will be able to brighten it up with lots of different types of flowers. Many people grow plants and trees, and whilst these are nice, it’s also lovely to be able to grow flowers and add some colour into the mix.
One of the great things about growing flowers is that you will be able to grow something regardless of the season. There are always options that will work throughout the year. Just make sure that you plant flowers and bulbs at the right time of the year, otherwise they can either freeze in the soil or become saturated with moisture.
Think about planting flowers in pots and planters rather than just in borders and on the lawn. This gives you the chance to have more variety, as the flowers won’t be dependent on the quality of your soil.
That being said, why not grow wildflowers on your lawn? This is a beautiful and unique way of giving your garden a touch of colour, and it is also very low maintenance. All you will need to do is make sure your lawn is healthy and you will be able to sow seeds straight away. You will also be able to attract bees and friendly insects to your garden, making it eco friendly.
